2006 JCI University Director's Message

Dear JCI Members and Trainers,

To begin with, I would like to thank all JCI active trainers for sharing their knowledge with our members all over the world. I thank them for their time, commitment and spirit. My thanks also to the various designing teams who are developing new JCI courses that will most certainly bring added value to our members.

The JCI University Team has started implementing its plan of action on the basis of the needs of both members and trainers. We are working hard not only on upgrading our internal rules and procedures but also on developing new training programs.

I am pleased to inform you that the JCI University has already approved new Certified Local Trainers (CLTs) and that the Certification Committee has also approved new International Graduates (IGs) and International Training Fellows (ITFs). If you meet the qualification requirements for CLT, IG or ITF, we encourage you to send your application to Gunther Meyer, JCI University Administrator, at his e-mail address: training@jci.cc. CLT applications are examined on a case-by-case basis, and JCI Training Administrator Gunther Meyer will reply quickly. The Certification Committee meets almost every month and will be pleased to examine your IG and ITF applications.

For the Area Conferences, we have planned a variety of training seminars under our four segments: Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Management and Training. The training sessions will be conducted by some of our best trainers in the world. I invite all of you to help us promote the training programs designed for the Area Conferences. Please note that registration for JCI Prime and JCI Designer at the Area Conferences is already available online. The registration page is http://www.jci.cc/university/home.php. We are counting on each one of you to share this information with local and national organizations.

I am also pleased to inform you that, a few weeks ago, we conducted the very first tests of the new JCI Designer in Argentina (Rosario) and then Brazil (Curitiba). As a result of these successful sessions, the designing team used the feedback from the coaches and participants to improve the course.

Finally, on your behalf, I would like to thank the JCI Foundation and its Chairman, Sonny Yu, for sponsoring the testing of JCI Designer and the designing of a brand new course JCI wants to launch this year, JCI Selling Basics. This event was hosted by JCI Denmark (in Aalborg) from April 20 to April 24.

Your efforts in the field and your support of our vision and plan of action will be highly appreciated. Working with each one of you hand and in hand will help us reach higher levels of performance and service.

Sincerely yours.
